Dealing with Car Repairs Can Be Expensive

You need to vent about your Friday morning!
Your car had been at the dealership for the last three weeks due to an engine light. The delay was caused by the dealer having to wait on a part. You finally got your back on Thursday, but the next morning when you turned on your car it initially started but turned right off then would not restart. As soon as you stepped out of the car and smelled gas. You called your husband who had just gotten to work and was on covid duty in the parking lot. While waiting for him to get home, you were fuming and called the dealership to let them know what happened. In the end you had to call roadside assistance and wait on a tow truck to take it back to the dealership. Your husband returned home and tried to start the vehicle and confirmed that it would not start.

After this attempt by your husband you heard a gushing sound and look under the car to find all of the gas is pouring out from the engine area. In the end your garage had a full tank of gas on the floor. You had to call the dealership again and told them what happened and to asked how you could get the car in neutral to get it out of the garage. You wasted as much as 40 pounds of cat litter soaking gas up, but the garage and laundry room still reek of gasoline.

After a trip to the dealership to get a loaner, the tow truck driver reported to the dealership that he feared the gas rail was not tightened, had blown, and had to be replaced. At this point you feared your blood pressure was through the roof this morning. Worse yet, although you are never late to work unless you let your supervisors know ahead of time that you have an appointment, this morning you ended up being two hours late. The only good news is that at the end of the day it is now the weekend.

Whether your battle is with another car, a critter on the road, or the warranty of your vehicle, finding the right repair shop is important. And while you may find that repairs and warranty work are covered if you go to the dealership where you made your purpose it is also important to realize that sometimes it is in your best interest to look elsewhere. When it comes fo car damaged by hail, for example, there may be such a long wait of other customers at the dealership that you would be better off seeking your repair work at a shop that deals exclusively out body work.

A Car Damaged by Hail Requires Specific Kinds of Repair Attention

Just as you would want to go to business dealing with windshield replacement if that is the damage you are seeking to repair, it is often in your best interest to go to an auto body shop when you have a car damaged by hail. Finding an auto repair shop, however, that does reputable work at a good price and within a reasonable time frame is not always easy. When a major weather event causes automobile damage across the area, for instance, drivers can find themselves the victim of companies that come into town for a few weeks or months but later leave and are not there to stand behind the work they due. And when it comes to a car damaged by hail it is important to note that the quality of the repair work will result in increasing or decreasing the overall resale value of that vehicle.

Unfortunately, a recent survey indicated that that an estimated 77% of cars were in need of maintenance or repairs. Often times this is because of costs, but not getting a car repaired can also be the result fo finding a car body shop that has an opening.
The three most common causes of car accidents in the U.S. include distracted driving, drunk driving, and speeding. In all of these situations, however, the repairs rely on finding the right auto body shop in the area.
